Bangkok Crowned Asia’s Most-Visited City in 2025
Fundacion Rapala – Bangkok has once again proven its irresistible charm. The capital of Thailand now holds the title of Asia’s most-visited city for 2025, according to global travel platform Agoda. Thai government spokesperson Sasikarn Watthanachan announced the win, saying Bangkok’s vibrant culture and endless attractions keep travelers coming back year after year.
Thailand’s Five-Star Tourism Appeal
Bangkok is not the only Thai city drawing huge crowds. Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Hat Yai also landed in the region’s top list for repeat visits. This variety shows Thailand’s ability to satisfy every type of traveler—from those chasing beaches and nightlife to those seeking temples, food markets, and mountain adventures.
Sasikarn credited Bangkok’s success to its bustling streets, world-class street food, and cultural icons like the Grand Palace and Wat Arun. Excellent public transport and famously warm hospitality make exploring easy. The U.S. Department of State also gives Bangkok a Level 1 travel advisory, meaning visitors only need normal safety precautions—the highest safety rating possible.
Big Push for Tourism in 2025
To attract even more visitors, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports launched the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale 2025. Running from July 1 to August 15, it targets key markets such as India, China, Malaysia, Laos, and Vietnam. Travelers can enjoy discounts on hotels, travel packages, and shopping. The campaign also promotes trends like wellness retreats, music festivals, sporting events, and global exhibitions.
Affordable Adventures in the Land of Smiles
Thailand recently earned the title of world’s most affordable travel destination, according to The Forex Complex. The average daily spend is just US$81.87 (around Rp 1.3 million).
With its mix of safety, affordability, and cultural richness, Bangkok offers more than a visit—it delivers an experience worth repeating.
